Most day trading approaches ask you to watch screens for hours, adapt to multiple sessions, and make discretionary calls under pressure. This system does the opposite. The edge comes from one repeatable window — the first 60 minutes of the New York session on XAUUSD — and a set of filters designed to keep you out of the market on low-quality days.

The opening range is drawn in the first 15 minutes. From 13:45 UTC, you either have a valid breakout setup or you don't. At 14:45, the session is over. Maximum two trades. The rest of the day is yours.

Before 13:30 UTC
Pre-session preparation
Check the calendar. Classify the London profile. Identify daily levels. Confirm bias. The entire session context is established before the range begins.
13:30 – 13:45 UTC
Opening range forms
Observe only. The first 15 candles define the OR high and low. Read ATR. Run the filter stack. You have a tradeable session or you stand aside — the decision is mechanical.
13:45 – 14:45 UTC
Trade window
Wait for a qualifying breakout. Enter on retest and reclaim. Stop placed structurally. Move to breakeven at 1R. Hold to 2.5R or named liquidity level. Max two trades.
14:45 UTC
Session closes — hard stop
No new entries regardless of setup quality. Log the session. The discipline of the hard close is part of what makes the system work over time.
